Having trouble connecting?
Find your symptom below. Nothing here runs research or changes your account — reading and copying are always safe.
It keeps asking me to sign in
Finish the approval in one browser profile, using the Public Signal account whose credits you want research to use. Switching accounts or browsers partway through can interrupt sign-in.
If the app opened a different browser or profile than the one you normally use, sign in to Public Signal there too, approve, and return to the app.
I can't find the button or menu
Vendor menus move. In your app's settings, search for words like Connectors, MCP, Servers, Apps, Plugins, or Integrations. The setup must accept a remote server URL and then open a browser to sign in.
Each app's setup guide names the exact menu for its surface — reopen your guide from Connect your AI assistant and follow it step by step rather than guessing.
My screen looks different from the guide
AI apps are rolling these settings out gradually, and company workspaces sometimes rename or hide them. Look for equivalent entries (Security and login, Developer mode, Apps, Plugins) and follow the same order: allow, add, sign in, enable per conversation.

My company or school account blocks setup
Some organizations disable outside connections or custom servers entirely. This is normal and not something to work around quietly: ask your account owner or administrator whether Public Signal is allowed.
If your organization's policy allows it, the hosted agent needs no outside connection. You can also share the relevant setup guide with your owner so they can approve and add Public Signal.
The button didn't open my app
Install links need the desktop app installed and the browser's permission to open it. Allow the Open app prompt and try again. On a phone, switch to a computer for desktop-only apps.
Every guide with a shortcut button also has a manual fallback that ends in the same place. Use it — the result is identical.
I connected it, but nothing happens
Some apps need the connection enabled in each conversation; others attach tools automatically. Follow your app's guide to check that Public Signal is enabled and its tools are listed in the current session.
Then retry the small bounded first request from your setup guide — one profile lookup — rather than a broad autonomous search.
Research failed or a profile is missing
Follow the error your app shows: it usually names the actual problem (for example, an account that can't be fetched right now). Don't retry with a bigger search — narrow the request first.
A prompt's requested bound is not a guaranteed spend cap. Review suggested work before authorizing more research, and check your usage in Usage & billing.
I want to disconnect
Follow your app's guide to remove the Public Signal entry and use its logout or clear-authentication option where available. Removing a configuration entry alone does not prove that previously issued credentials have been revoked.
Public Signal does not currently have a website page for managing these connections. If you need help revoking access, contact support. Disconnecting does not restore credits already used.
Check the address
If you re-add the connection by hand, this is the only address to use. It is public and is not a secret.

Still stuck?
Reopen your app's guide from Connect your AI assistant, or write to support@publicsignallabs.com with your app name, where you got stuck, and what you already tried. You can always open the agent and research here instead.
